I've been on a couple times. It's great. Are they having you on with anyone else?

M. D. said...

Not that I know of. I think it's right before the Kobe announcement. So I'm sure I'll have to give him some props.

You've done a great job before.

When is Boozer's Hammy going to be on? Haha.

Good luck, CB Jack.

They cant handle my unique sense of perspective and humor.

M. D. said...

He's probably going to be on the LA Times Lakers Blog radio show tomorrow. Stay tuned...

Just please don't mention funnelcakes. Don't embarass yourself.

Nice C.B. I wonder if they will say anything about D-Fish. Nah, that wasn't that hot of a topic anyway.

Good luck, CB.

wtf??? hammy should represent ur crew...

UofTOrange said...

I talked to them about y'all before I was on with Kris from basketballjohn. Told them both of you had great sites. You know, even if your team is the anti-christ...

Brock Kassing said...

Hey Lee, is it An-tie or an-tee? Just curious.

M. D. said...

Thanks Lee. A true friend...except for the anti-christ part.

I'm having dream shake withdrawls...i just miss them so much.

The Machine said...

Why would Karl Malone acknowledge two of his illegitimate kids, but not a third? It's not like this kid is after money...he's in the NFL. Not trying to put down Jazz fans here...just putting it out there because I can't fathom it.

M. D. said...

I am at a loss for words on this one.

Melt the bronze statue, sell it, and send the kid the money. That is what I say.

Savvy Veteran said...

Ha that was great CB. Loved the Idaho thing.

Anonymous said...

Karl Malone....WOW what a dirt bag!!!

M. D. said...

agreed.

Brock Kassing said...

Nice work C.B. You went into the belly of the beast and did great! Way to represent My Utah Jazz!

Brock Kassing said...

....and to the Machine: I realize you have not immortalized the guy in bronze, but doesn't James "Zipper" Worthy rank up there with the likes of Karl Malone? I'm sure every team has a few token guys.

The Machine said...

Like I said, I wasn't saying it to rip on the Jazz...I just read the article this afternoon, and I thought I'd bring it up. As far as Worthy goes, he was my all-time favorite player as a kid...until he got busted soliciting a prostitute. I'm not putting these guys on a pedestal. I know that a lot of them don't have great "family values", and as an adult I can separate that from the basketball side of things now. I idolized them more as a kid, so things like that were more intertwined for me back then. I can't defend Kobe, Worthy, Magic, Kareem, or anyone else as a person...only for what I see on the court. Regardless of who Karl Malone is, I just couldn't fathom not acknowledging your own kid, no matter what the circumstances.

Brock Kassing said...

Course, I should mention the fact that I have never heard stories of Worthy having kids with 13 year olds etc. So forgive me for putting those two in the same category without doing my research.

Brock Kassing said...

Completely agree machine. As a Father of two..weeks away from three. I cannot even imagine bailing on them, nor having any part of them at all.
(wow, that got sentimental really fast.)

You want to know what is worse than sitting at home all day waiting to make a lame retort to some lame comment made by lame Laker fans? Going to the zoo. I hate that place and I hate whoever thought it would be a good idea to have your kindergarten field trip their on crappy rainy day. And just to get me ready for tonights game I took a picture of Kobe and threw it into the Rhino cage where it was promptly urinated on. Jazz by 5.

Brock Kassing said...

cue pslakersfan anytime now.

Anonymous said...

It's just that easy. Waiting.....

The Machine said...

boone, do your kids a favor and spare them the humiliation of being a Jazz fan...buy them a 2008 MVP Kobe jersey right now.

The Machine said...

and if Kobe can dunk over a Maserati, he can definitely dunk over a rhino. Checkmate.

The Machine said...

I meant to say jump over an Aston Martin. I'm sure he could jump a Maserati too, though.

Anonymous said...

Hammy - zoos smell, too.

So, you took a picture of a picture of Kobe? Or did you attend the MVP press conference? I thought I saw you in the back clapping.

Brock Kassing said...

Nah, that's way to easy. I think when kids start school in the U.S. it's customary that they get pencils, paper, rulers, a Yankees hat and a Kobe jersey. My four year old is a proud owner of a D-Will jersey and proud of it. I am a Jazz fan, machine, and by damn, so will my kids. (Not that I would ever force them.) Besides, they're girls and if they are anything like their Mom they will forget the word "Sports" in two years anyway and I will be back playing dolls while watching the Jazz.

Brock Kassing said...

amazing_happens, no, they hand out Kobe pics as paper-towells when you enter the Zoo gates. Just in case you spill or have to get some Rhino Dung off the bottom of your shoe.

UofTOrange said...

@I'm having dream shake withdrawls...i just miss them so much.

I'm doubting that ;-)

I didn't get to hear y'all on the air, but I'll check out the podcast tomorrow.

I'm not going to stay up to watch y'all get beat tonight (I think y'all have a great team, I don't think y'all match up well at all with LA though). I like you guys, but I'd be suprised if this goes more than 5, if it does though, it obviously will go 7.

And to be fair, the Jazz aren't really the anti-christ, everyone knows that David Hasselhoff has cornered the market on that

The Machine said...

Nice try tonight, guys. Dude, Harpring...settle down.

Anonymous said...

2-0, Utah fans.

Congratulations on winning the rebound battle.

-Miguelinho

The Machine said...

you won the foul battle, too. Kirilenko sure was eager to foul out.

Anonymous said...

utah! good game. 7 players in double figures, you won the rebound, assist, steals battle, and had fewer turnovers.

and yet.

we have mamba. is this what is felt like when mj kept ruining things for you? eerie, huh?

2-0. goodnight.

Anonymous said...

So ... Utah just has to shoot better next game, right?

The only silver lining is Deron's second half play. He finally realized that he should be burning his old teammate Fisher, instead of playing him like he would his dad, which is to say, gently.

Utah fans will be at their best (worst?) for game 3. The Jazz are going to have to protect home court in both games to have a chance in this series.

It's too bad, because I'm sure the Jazz would have given the Hornets fits.

Anonymous said...

Sorry for my absence boys I had to make a little trek to Staples Center....What was going on with Harpring. Everyone on the after game show and also on here are talking about him, and I didn't notice anything while at the game.....Help anyone???

Anonymous said...

Utah now has to win FOUR of the next five games against the Lakers.

The Machine said...

Good job pulling down those offensive rebounds...the Lakers would've had more except they made more shots than they missed. Funny how that works.

UofTOrange said...

Alright, I don't like either team, so I think I'm somewhat unbiased. I equally like Deron and Kobe as well. That being said, what the hell is Jerry Sloan thinking? I know the Jazz fans are going to say the refs screwed them, but guys, that's just not the case. Jerry had the Jazz hacking every time the Lakers had the ball. It was absolutely horrible. The Jazz weren't driving the lane and somehow expected that in LA, the only place in the NBA on par with the homecourt advantage ref style that the Jazz have, they were going to get away with hacking the crap out of the Lakers.

And I will be the first to admit that the Jazz get a homecourt advantage because the fans scare the crap out of the refs and force them to make bad calls. The Lakers just get it just because they are the Lakers. They have one of the worse fan bases in the league, half of the people that go to LA games at Staples go "just cause". That wasn't always the case, but it absolutely is now.

Anonymous said...

uoft, I could not agree with you more. The Jazz's defensive effort last night was a train wreck. The refs did not lose that game for the Jazz. The Lakers were agressive in taking the ball to the hoop and the Jazz were jacking up horrible jumpers. I am not sure if it was Sloan dictating to the player to be hands on or the players were just lazy and thats what happens.

In the second half we started to be more agressive offensively and we actually "won" those 2 quarters for what its worth. If the Jazz can keep that same agression here in Salt Lake we can send it back to LA all tied up, but they have yet to show a willingness to do it for more than half of a game. Defensively we need to change something up and get a better effort.

Hey pslakerfan, were you there on time to see the tip off?

Anonymous said...

anonymous, thanks for the math lesson. The good news for the Jazz is that 3 of those 4 games that we need to win are in Salt Lake City where for some reason the Jazz are a different team.

The Machine said...

Hopefully "different" means better. We need more of a test to prepare us for the next round. Give us your best shot so there are no more excuses when we beat you.

Anonymous said...

"Hey pslakerfan, were you there on time to see the tip off?"

Is that a "bandwagon, show up late, leave early, typical LA fan" kind of comment.

If so, you have the wrong guy. I live 2.5 hours from Staples, and I am never late....hence the PSLakerfan. Palm Springs....I have to leave 4 hours before game time in case of LA traffic. So usually I am very early....

Those late arrivers you guys like to talk about are sitting in $2,200 corporate owned seats. Movie studios, casinos, etc... I know because I sat there once courtesy of the Mirage. Most of those people are there as a perk, and are not real fans, I agree. You can tell by the way they dress. However the other 18,900 fans are real ones and if you were ever here you might know that.....

Anonymous said...

UofTOrange,

I assume that means Vols. I just love the "laker fans are the worse (sic) in the league" comment. As usual I am sure you use the "courtside seats empty" evidence to come up with that one... Brilliant.

Take a trip to Staples some time I think you might change that tune...

I won't be an ass and comment on U of T fans because like you I have no real facts to support a claim...

Anonymous said...

pslakerfan...

I'll answer for Lee. UT is certainly not Vols. It's the freakin' Longhorns (you know, the school *in* Texas).

And to backtrack even further, Lee mis-spoke. David Hasselhoff is not the anti-christ. He's just a bad pop singer who's huge in Germany.

No, the real anti-christ is Oprah. I thought we were all clear on that. Of course, that doesn't make the Utah Jazz suck any less. ;-)

UofTOrange said...

@pslakerfan

Sorry man, that's just the way it is, I'm glad you are a great fan. And I for one think Rockets fans as a whole suck too (my team), so believe me, I'm not just bagging on Lakers fans. I'd love to see it get back to the Showtime Lakers fans, but it just doesn't seem like LA is that kind of town. No real shame in it. I know there are diehard Lakers fans, but by and large that is not the prevailing type of Lakers fan. Sorry to break the truth to you.

Anonymous said...

Fair enough UofT,

But then I guess we should differentiate between real fans (fanatics) and bandwagon fans. I think the real fanatical Laker fans while "homers" are great "fans". However I will agree the Lakers have a large bandwagon fan base. Those are not the fans I am talking about....

Is it Tennessee or Texas? Wouldn't it be UofTburntorange???

Anonymous said...

grunge,

What does *in* Texas mean???

Anonymous said...

Case in point,

There are always celebrities sitting courtside. Tonight it was Jack Black. Did Jack Black look like he gave a damn who won the game??? Pathetic, just pathetic. The Lakers should use some of those courtside seats as an upgrade for real fans each game.
(Of course Jack Nicholson does not belong in this category, cannot deny he is a real fan. He works his movie schedule around Laker games for god's sake)

Anonymous said...

ps,

Lee and I are Rockets fans... and I don't know too many Rockets fans that went to Tennessee. ;-)

I went to SMU though, while Lee went to UT. And no, SMU is not "Southern Mississippi".

Anonymous said...

I know where SMU is thanks, as a matter of fact I still remember that SMU vs. Houston football game way back when after NCAA sanctions. I think Vegas had Houston -72 pts. I took Houston and won the bet (barely). What was the final score on that one, I can't remember for the life of me. Actually just checked 95-21, man that was fun....just having a little fun at your expense....

And I wasn't kidding, isn't it burnt orange????

Brock Kassing said...

"My Utah Jazz: Where bringing Houston Rockets and L.A. Lakers Homers Together to find common ground....that being their hatred of the Jazz"

that being their fully rational, understandable and completely logical hatred of the Jazz

Ron,

It is not our fault all of the Jazz fans are AWOL.

Jazz fan here. Hi guys.

Anonymous said...

I guess I should go and check out the Hornets blogs because the Jazz are done.....hey C.B. who do you like in that series????

UofTOrange said...

Is burnt orange not orange? So, yes, it could be UofTBurntOrange, but that's a little cumbersome, isn't it? Plus Tennesee "orange" is "light orange" but no one has to say that.

Boo Tennesee.
